Seatrench AS was contracted by GMSL to participate in the Malaysia – Cambodia – Thailand (MCT) Submarine Cable System. The MCT cable system will provide connectivity between Cherating in Malaysia, Sihanoukville in Cambodia and Rayong in Thailand.

In January 2017 Seatrench performed cable pull in and subsea burial of FO cable to landing site in Rayong Thailand. The cable was pulled in from the multi purpose offshore vessel Bold Marverick. Approx. 5 km of FO cable was buried to 3 meter below seabed from 15m water depth to beach.

In March 2017 Seatrench performed subsea burial of approx 4.5km of FO cable in Cherating Malaysia. The cable was buried to 3 meter below seabed in 1 pass.

Seatrench has available trenching spread located at its partner in Singapore G8 Subsea Ltd. G8 Subsea Ltd and Seatrench are ready to mobilize equipment, vessels and personnel on short notice to any customer in the SEA region.

Seatrench has completed trenching of submarine power cable in France and on Jersey. In very difficult tidal conditions, a power cable was buried using Hermes IV and the new diverless trenching machine for shallow water. It was decided by French authorities that it was not allowed to dive during operation, and trenching support vessel Hermes IV and a semi remote operated trencher was prepared for the job.

The new diverless trenching machine can start dry from the beach or be launched from Hermes IV. It has the same powerfull trenching capabilities as our previous machines while satisfying the demands of the customers for diverless solutions for shallow water..
